The VATA, Inc. Suture Skills Trainer - Light (SB52444) is a comprehensive training kit designed to enhance suturing skills through realistic, hands-on practice. Developed with input from Dr. Michael Zenn, Director of the Human Tissue Lab at Duke University, this trainer features a tissue pad with five anatomically correct layers: Epidermis, Dermis, Subcutaneous Fat, Fascia, and Muscle. Each layer is identifiable and mimics the color, strength, firmness, and feel of real human tissue.
This trainer allows for practicing various suturing techniques, including superficial, subcuticular, and complex deep wound suturing. The unique materials ensure that sutures will not tear through the tissue when proper tension is applied. The included proprietary tensioning device enables users to adjust the distance between the two cut tissue edges, offering a more realistic feel and increasing the challenge when closing the tissue under varying degrees of tension.
The kit comes complete with high-quality instruments, including a needle driver, Adson 1-2 forceps, hooked Littauer scissors, a surgical safety scalpel, one dozen nylon sutures, a disposable skin stapler, a staple remover, and a custom carrying case.
