Nylon sutures

Nylon sutures, also known as polyamide sutures, are a type of synthetic, non-absorbable suture material commonly used in surgery. Nylon sutures are known for their strength, flexibility, and elasticity, making them ideal for use in a variety of surgical procedures. They are often used in procedures where long-term wound support is needed, such as in skin closures or in cardiovascular and ophthalmic surgeries. Nylon sutures are easy to handle and tie, and they provide good knot security. However, because they are non-absorbable, they must be removed once the wound has healed.
