Is your IV smart pump smart enough? Despite nearly two decades of innovations that have helped improve patient safety—from dose-error reduction software (DERS) to IV-EHR interoperability—too many IV smart pumps on the market today still leave patient safety risks unaddressed. With safety standards continuing to evolve, count on Plum 360 to keep leading the way.

Connect Smarter. Care Safer.

Get award-winning clinical performance.

The Best in KLAS Plum 360 infusion system earned the highest rating for pump performance six years in a row (2021, 2022, 2023 Smart Pumps - EMR-Integrated; 2018, 2019, 2020, 2023 Smart Pumps) and gives you automatic safety with unmatched efficiency and interoperability in one connected IV system.

Helping you keep care quiet by reducing the burden of IV pump alarms

Alarm fatigue is a well-recognized side effect of excessive and often false alarms from medical devices in a busy hospital setting.2,3 We can help reduce the noise and annoyance of nuisance IV pump alarms while enabling more efficient delivery of care.

Smarter and safer drug library

The “Guidelines for Optimizing Safe Implementation and Use of Smart Infusion Pumps” issued by The Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) in February 20204 urges
hospitals to:

  • Choose smart infusion pumps that default directly to programming in Dose Error Reduction Software (DERS), and
  • Establish organizational expectations for the use of DERS that maximizes compliance to 95% or higher for medication administration.

The Plum 360 with ICU Medical MedNet software meets both of these guidelines with programming that defaults to DERS and average compliance rates of 98%.

Eliminate manual programming errors on more infusions

As many as 75%5 of pump programming errors can be eliminated with safety software and IV-EHR interoperability, but interoperability solutions vary. ISMP guidelines note that organizational expectations for auto programming should be 95% or greater for medications and IV fluids. This requires being able to program nearly all types of infusions, including primary, secondary, rate changes, and titrations. Our interoperability solution lets you do just that, and more.

By removing manual steps and standardizing your infusion programming, you can save time while increasing your confidence in the care being delivered
