Often it's beneficial for the patient if you can retrieve data from an AED that was just used in a rescue. The Emergency Room Physician may find useful such information as the patient's ECG during the entire event, the number of shocks administered, and when CPR was started among other things. The only way to retrieve this data is through the use of a Philips HeartStart FR2+ AED Data Card and Tray. The Philips HeartStart FR2+ AED does show a patient summary on its LCD screen after an event, but it doesn't include the features above that are so helpful to the patient and doctor. Will hold up to 8 hours of incident and ECG information | Or one hour with voice recording | Retrieve the data through software that's free from Philips and a Card Reader available separately | To use data it must be inserted into the AED before the device is turned on

The Philips FR2/FR2+ Data Card and Tray (M3854A) is an essential accessory for medical personnel and AED program administrators who require comprehensive incident data for post-event analysis. This integrated system combines a 16 MB data card with a durable plastic tray, offering secure storage and seamless integration with Philips HeartStart FR2 and FR2+ AEDs.

Key Features & Capabilities:

  • Extensive Recording Capacity: Capable of capturing up to 8 hours of ECG waveform and event data—such as shock delivery, CPR initiation, and more—or approximately 1 hour of audio recordings when voice is enabled.

  • Multi-Case Storage: Supports recording from multiple events on a single data card, eliminating the need for frequent card changes.

  • Secure Tray Integration: The tray ensures proper alignment and secure connection of the data card within the AED. Philips recommends leaving the empty tray inserted at all times to protect the unit’s port .

  • Post-Event Review: When used with the Philips HeartStart Event Review software and compatible flash card reader, it enables detailed offline review of ECG data, event timestamps, and responder actions.

  • Audio Recording Option: The FR2+ model can be configured to record ambient audio alongside ECG and event data for more complete incident documentation.

Compatibility & Usage:

  • AED Models: Compatible with Philips HeartStart FR2 and FR2+ defibrillators.

  • Software Integration: Works with Philips Event Review and Event Review Pro applications.

  • Accessories Needed: Requires a flash card reader (such as M3524A) and a PC with the Event Review software for data extraction.

Installation & Operation Tips:

  1. Insert the data card into the tray with the label facing up, matching the tray's arrow and rubber tongue.

  2. With the AED powered off, gently slide the tray into the data card port located on the right side of the unit.

  3. Turn on the AED to begin automatic event recording. After the emergency event, retrieve the card and tray to download the data.

Benefits:

  • Equips EMS teams, hospitals, schools, and corporate AED programs with accurate resuscitation logs for quality improvement, medical review, and compliance.

  • Enhances patient care and documentation by preserving detailed rhythms, interventions, timings, and optional audio.

  • Offers a reliable, Philips-approved method for incident data capture supported by global software systems.
