The Ri-derma® Dermatoscope offers a reliable way for physicians to check for and identify early signs of malignant melanomas. It uses epiluminescence microscopy which is proven to assist is distinguishing between melanocytic and non-melanocytic structures and enables precise observation of pigmented skin changes.
The Ri-derma® Dermatoscope uses 3.5V LED Illumination and features a focusing achromatic lens with 10x magnification. It comes with two contact plates; one with a scale of 0 - 10 mm for the measurement of pigmented skin lesions, and the other without a scale. The plates can be sterilized. It features an eye piece protection and a bayonet socket for easy and secure attachment of the instrument head to the handle. The lamp is simple to change underneath the instrument head.
The Dermatoscope uses a Type "C" Instrument Handle. It uses two type "C" lithium batteries. It has the Rheotronic® Electronic Light Adjustment feature which is a patented technology feature that regulates the light intensity of the instrument. The instrument is activated when the user lightly taps a rotating button which will offer immediate 100% light output. Adjusting the light is as simple as lightly tapping the + or - for higher or lower light intensity. Deactivation occurs when the button is pushed for longer. The feature also provides safety and conservation of the battery by automatically shutting off the instrument after 120 seconds. The batteries are simple to replace at the base of the handle. The handle measures 28 mm in diameter.
The Ri-derma® Dermatoscope casing is made of black chrome-plated metal and it is dust-proof. It comes with the instrument head and handle, 2 contact plates, a spare bulb, and 2 Lithium Batteries and comes in a deluxe hard case with a safety catch. The Dermatoscope is manufactured in Germany and comes with a 2 year warranty.
