The “High Voltage Power Supply 25 kV” provides a positive voltage in the kV range and is suitable, among other things, for experiments in electrostatics. The stabilized high voltage can be selected in 5 steps.
If charges shall be applied to components such as capacitor plates, conductor spheres, charge carriers, etc., it is recommended to use the power supply in combination with the “Charge storage device for the High Voltage Power Supply 25 kV“ (1023416). The charge storage is also part of the “Experiment Set Coulomb's Law“ (1023721).
The big advantage of using the charge storage is that it can apply charges of both polarities as an “earth-free voltage source“. When using an experimental cable, charges of only one polarity can be transferred.
