Fire House Manikins demonstrate a good balance between temperature and abrasion resistance
Product Details
The Fire House Manikins demonstrate a good balance between temperature and abrasion resistance. They are predominately designed for BA snatch rescue training in fire houses and for 'hot fire cell' training.
The Fire House Manikins will easily withstand temperatures of around 160°C at floor level (400°C at the ceiling!) for many hours - they will of course deteriorate if placed to close to naked flames or in excessive temperatures, just as any fire kit would!
FEATURES & BENEFITS
- Anatomically correct weight distribution gives the 'feel' of an unconscious casualty.
- Strong enough to be buried under concrete or steel lintels - the Nomex coverall is not as tough as the Polyester version used in the Duty range but these manikins can still be used for general training exercises.
- The neck provides the ability to fit an immobilisation/extrication collar - to promote proper casualty care.
- Soft body joints eliminate the risk of pinch welts and bruising, a common injury when using plastic bodied manikins.
- The protective coveralls and boots greatly extended the life of the manikins and are easily 'user' replaceable if damaged.
- A separate hood, also made in Nomex completely covers the head - being separate this makes the fitting of replacement coveralls considerably easier.

The Ruth Lee Fire House Manikin is built specifically for repeated use in firehouse environments where training demands are intense, realistic, and often expose equipment to high heat and harsh conditions. Designed for firefighters and emergency response teams, this manikin simulates an unconscious casualty, enabling hands-on practice for critical life-saving techniques in structure fire simulations, smoke rooms, confined spaces, and ladder rescues.
Unlike general-purpose rescue manikins, the Fire House Manikin is constructed with advanced flame-retardant materials that can withstand elevated ambient temperatures, such as those found in training towers and burn buildings. Its robust internal structure allows for realistic handling, dragging, and lifting—without compromising on safety or longevity.
Key features include:
-
Flame-retardant, abrasion-resistant construction ideal for hot training environments
-
Realistic weight distribution to mimic the feel of an unconscious adult
-
Flexible limbs for easier placement in complex rescue positions
-
Reinforced stress points to endure repeated use in high-impact scenarios
-
Suitable for smoke rooms, collapsed structures, and confined space drills
The Fire House Manikin ensures your team is prepared for the real-world challenges of fire rescue operations, offering durability, realism, and repeatable performance under extreme training conditions.
