Cutimed® Sorbion® Border

is a bordered, sterile, hydroactive, gel-forming, self-adhesive, superabsorbent wound dressing, offering atraumatic dressing changes. The dressing consists of a strong water-retaining superabsorbent core, a wound contact layer from a hypoallergenic polypropylene, a silicone adhesive border and a breathable, waterproof backing from polyurethane which allows the ability to shower.

Intended Purpose

Indications: Cutimed® Sorbion® Border is intended for the treatment of exudating wounds with moderate to excessive exudate levels such as pressure injuries, venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and other wounds healing through secondary intention, oozing laparotomy wounds, exulcerating carcinomas, postoperative wound dehiscence and similar exudating wounds.

 

Wear time: Cutimed® Sorbion® Border should be changed as often as clinically indicated, must be not fully saturated. It can remain in place for heavily exuding wounds, up to 4 days. For wounds with moderate exudation, the dressing wearing time can be extended for up to 7 days.

 

Self-adhesive atraumatic silicone border

The self-adhesive atraumatic silicone border, with low allergy potential, keeps the dressing in place and allows an easy and atraumatic application and removal1.

 

 

Outstanding absorption capacity

Outstanding absorption capacity and high retention performance. It is capable of absorbing up to 48,6% more than comparable superabsorbent border dressings2. Protection against maceration through safe, vertical absorption.  

 

Shower-proof

The self-adhesive border and the highly breathable, water-repellent backing protect the dressing and even makes it possible to take a shower without removing or changing the dressing.  
 

Time- and cost- saving

Time- and cost-saving thanks to reduced frequency of dressing changes and therapy efforts.
 
 

Wound cleansing effect

Creates optimal wound healing conditions and provides soft debridement, minimizing the treatment effort3, 4, 5.

Instructions

1. Before applying the dressing, disinfect hands and use gloves. Cleanse the wound according to standard procedures. If necessary, irrigate the wound and remove leftover cleansing solution afterwards.
2. Select a suitable dressing size, so that the dressing pad of Cutimed® Sorbion® Border overlaps with the wound edges at least by 1cm/0.4inch.
3. Remove release liners, do not touch the wound pad.
4. Apply the dressing towards the wound. Apply the white, unprinted side of the product facing the wound.
5. Gently press the adhesive border to the intact skin to secure the dressing.
6. Avoid stretching the dressing.
How to Remove
To remove Cutimed® Sorbion® Border lift one corner, gently remove the dressing, and discard. Adherence of wound deposits to Cutimed® Sorbion® Border is a desirable effect, contributing to wound cleansing (soft debridement).
